Yearbook Excitement

The year seems to be flying by as the winter season fast approaches. As one of the head editors of the yearbook, this means there is little time to pull everything together. Luckily, at our weekly meetings, more students are showing up to help out. From taking pictures to designing the layout, everyone is graciously adding their own touches to the book. Before we can put all the pictures in, however, we need to come up with a theme.

Past yearbooks have centered on different ideas, ranging from the changing seasons to different elements. After a discussion, the yearbook team came to the conclusion that we liked the idea of incorporating old vs. new. With this theme in mind, some of the board members visited the archive room in the bottom of the library to gain some insight on what “old Milton” was like. To our surprise, we found hundreds of old pictures and newspapers dating back to the 1700s. These pictures quickly sparked many ideas about what we want to do with our own yearbook. Over the course of the fall, we went to the archives a few times, each time uncovering new inspirations. As a group, we hope to incorporate a few of these old treasures into this year’s yearbook. We are excited to see how everything comes out!
