Living at Milton: A Unique Boarding Experience By: Caroline

The eight dorms that make up Milton Academy’s boarding community at Hathaway, Goodwin, Forbes, Robbins, Wolcott, Hallowell, Norris, and Millet. Each of our dorms houses about 40 students, along with a handful of teachers, other faculty members, and their pets. Our boarding community is organized to cultivate long-lasting bonds and friendships. Each dorm contains students from all four years, providing new freshmen with knowledgeable juniors and seniors as mentors. So during your first few months at Milton, that stroll through the upperclassman section in the Student Center quickly becomes less intimidating. On top of the integration of the grades, students remain in the same dorm throughout their four years here. And when we finally return to school in September, we’re welcomed by beaming faces, familiar hallways, ecstatic shrieks from across the quad, and an overwhelming number of hugs. So although we live at school, the dorms at Milton couldn’t feel more like home.
