Dorm Dodgeball By Aimee

Every year, boarders dress up in crazy outfits and get fired up to play dodgeball against the other dorms. Each dorm plays the other three dorms once, and then go into playoffs. Dodgeball is a time to bond with your dorm members, take a break from school work and get your blood pumping.  Everyone is goofing around, laughing and having fun. Regardless of whether or not you are able to catch or throw, everyone is a crucial team member. The numbers of people “still alive” is the most important part of the game, so it does not matter if you aren’t athletic. It is just a fun time. I am not extremely athletic, yet I sometimes make an effort to throw and catch. For the rest of the time, I am just listening to the music playing and dancing with my friends. Everyone has so much dorm pride and it is a great activity for dorm bonding. Sometimes, after the girls’ games are done, my dorm, Millet, cheers on our brother dorm, Norris. This year, Norris was last place, but they were able to bring themselves up to second in the playoffs, beating Goodwin. Millet went to the championship game to cheer them on, and watched them beat Forbes. Norris made their way all the way from last to first place. The Millet girls stormed the court to celebrate with them. Overall, dorm dodgeball is such a good time and a great way for the boarding community to come together.
