Lunar New Year at Milton Academy By Min Shik

Lunar New Year, widely known as the Chinese New Year, is one of the most important holidays in the winter for those who celebrate. Students can sign up and celebrate the event together at Millet House, one of the dorms on campus. The primary goal of this event is to fulfill the core traditional value of the Lunar New Year; everyone should not start the year with stress and work. The day includes making dumplings, watching movies, playing card games, and other things that would provide a relaxing start of the year for the students. As this event usually falls between early February and early March, students find this event as a break to the start of the second semester after the exams. Although students cannot celebrate such important event of the year back home with their families, they can still enjoy the fresh start of the year with their friends in a warm atmosphere.
