Cheering on our friends and peers is a favorite activity at Milton

Cheering on our friends and peers at sporting events is a favorite activity at Milton. Last weekend, fans traveled to Lawrence Academy to watch the Milton football team play.  The crowd cheered emphatically as Milton junior, Domenic Cozier, bolted down the sidelines into the end zone for a 65-yard touchdown run, his 3rd touchdown of the game. To many Lawrence Academy fans the sight was astounding; however, to Dom’s teammates his feats are normal. Captain Jeff Brown (I) said, “He’s the fastest kid in recent school history and it shows on the field. All it takes is a small hole to spring him 60 yards.” Dom has taken the Independent School League (ISL) by storm this year, running for an astounding seven touchdowns in three games. He took over the running back position after ISL MVP and All-State Selection, Drew Jacobs, graduated. Although not standing with the same hulking frame of Jacobs, Dom uses his 5’8” 165 lbs frame to blend speed and toughness. As team captain Jeff Brown said, “Dom recently broke the school’s 40-yard dash record, running a cheetah-like 4.46.” Although the Mustangs football team is off to a 1-2 record, the team looks to bounce back this Saturday against Roxbury Latin.
