Winter Weather

A couple of times a year, when the winter weather looks especially dicey, the Milton Academy campus shut down on account of a snow day. Each student waits not-so-patiently, whether it be at home or in their dorm, to get the automated call telling us that we do not have to go to school the next day. Snow days are especially celebrated in the dorm, as shouts and cheers ring through the hallway, and a dance party inevitably breaks out. The day is filled with baking, sledding and snowball fights. On our first snow day this year, my dorm, Robbins House, hosted an annual snowball fight with our brother dorm, Forbes House. After that, we went inside for brownies and hot chocolate, and had a movie night in our common room. Although snow days are rare, they are cherished for bringing us together and strengthening the unforgettable bond forged in a dorm.
