Parent’s Weekend

Parent’s Day is one of the most cherished days of the Milton school year. This Friday, parents will join their kids in classes throughout the day, and attend musical performances and sports events all weekend. Whether families are traveling five minutes or halfway around the world, the ability to peek into their child’s day-to-day life is priceless. As I know from personal experience, many parents enjoy taking part in class discussion or working on a project or lab and reminiscing on their high school days. My sophomore year, which was my first year at Milton, my mother was the first person to speak in first period English class and I thought that it was the most embarrassing thing that could’ve happened. But when I saw how happy she was to be contributing in English class and joining me at school, I no longer cared. The pride and love is just bouncing off the walls and the family interactions that occur all day are invaluable. Although it is the busiest day of the year for students and teachers, the parents create a great atmosphere. Campus is never more vibrant and active than on Parent’s Day and it is one of the highlights of attending Milton.
