GO M.A.!

A few weekends ago, I traveled the 25 minutes to school to watch the Mustangs take on the St. Sebastian’s Arrows in a highly anticipated football game that could determine who is the Independent School League (ISL) champion. I joined a crowd of kids sitting in the stands cheering on the Mustangs to a dramatic 31-27 victory. Here, at Milton, we take all our sports seriously and cheer on our friends and the “Orange and Blue” as much as possible. Some of my fondest memories of my time at Milton have come from cheering on my friends at these sporting events. I still remember, during my freshman year, when the boys’ hockey team was playing Nobles in the first round of Class A New England tournament. All the classes came together to cheer on our fellow Miltonians, and it feels like the cheers of “GO M.A.!” are still echoing off the walls of the rink. The team went on to win the New England championship, and it was so fun for me, as a freshman, to feel like I was a part of that. Last year, it was a similar experience when the basketball team won its first ISL championship. I’ll always remember the rush of storming the court, as a collective community, after the last shot dropped. You can see the video in a post by Mike last year. This past weekend, they remain undefeated after beating Governor’s Academy 35-14. Everyone is welcome at these games, so if you want to see what it’s like to be part of Milton’s community, you should come out and join us! The team’s schedule is posted on Milton’s athletics website.
