Gopie: Newcombs is well regarded by the Milton community because of its breakfast which both faculty and students crave. You can walk to Newcombs, it's far, but well worth the trip. You are greeted by friendly waitresses who are glad to serve you. I ordered a well-done cheeseburger with lettuce and tomatoes and french fries. The cheeseburger would have been better if it was medium or medium-well to enhance the flavors of the meat. The bun was soft but able to keep the burger from spreading. The fries were great receiving a 6. I liked that I did not need ketchup for my French fries which were crispy and soft. Newcombs is very busy so seating may be issue for its small size. Newcombs is a great restaurant for breakfast and lunch and everyone I know recommends it. During your Milton experience I can guarantee you will go to Newcombs once.
Chun: My first impression of Newcomb Farms was the packed house. Granted, Newcombs is known for being primarily a breakfast joint and our group went at about 11 o'clock. We were seated at the door with a friendly waitress at wooden tables and chairs. The decor was pretty homily. In fact, the restaurant itself looked like a house converted into a diner. The yellow painting on the walls make the room brighter and the smell of frying eggs and bacon make for a happy morning.
Unfortunately, I wasn't here for breakfast; I was here for a tasty burger. The burgers at Newcombs are called Charburgers and come with a side of fries and pickles. When the order came, I was pretty pleased with the presentation: a nice large plate, toasted buns, glistening burger patty and a healthy looking slice of tomato and lettuce. When I bit in, I instantly wondered why Newcombs wasn't known for its burgers. The burger was delicious and juicy, the bun buttery and firm, the fries crispy. Newcombs was definitely one of the best burgers on this burger expedition.
Austin: Surprisingly, Newcombs made one of the best burgers during our quest. The burger was quite simple, just a thick patty, fluffy bread, and the fixings, yet it had a great, fresh taste. The fries were unbelievable as well. They were crispy on the outside and yet there was plenty of soft potato on the inside. The restaurant itself has quite a homely feel, thus making the atmosphere cozy and enjoyable.
