I am a proud member of Norris House and love boarding but my main complaint as a boarding student is the food. Weekends lack quality food, and hot food is only served twice, so I am forced to order out from the same places. Creating this burger guide will expand the burger options for the Milton Academy community. I prefer a juicy medium-well burger dressed with fresh lettuce and tomatoes. I use ketchup sparingly to avoid drowning the taste of the burger, so ketchup used is a sign of bad burger quality. I also enjoy freshly cut french fries rather than frozen, salty fries.

Coming into this project, I really needed to downgrade my expectations for the burger and fries reviews because I knew that the burgers would never surpass Jimbo's Hamburger Palace on the Upper East Side. Jimbo's baconburgers are so delicious: juicy, thick patties, well-cooked (medium-well), healthy-tasting lettuce, thick-cut bacon, buttery and toasted buns, all aspects that I am looking for in a good burger. Jimbo's doesn't serve great fries but I look always for a good combination between potato and fry with a nice seasoning. The greatest fries never need ketchup.

I am a huge fan of burgers; however, I have always preferred my burgers to be on the dryer side. A perfect burger will have a thick patty with melted American cheese and other toppings inside of a thick yet fluffy bun that has been crisped up a little by the stove top. I have recently begun to enjoy bacon on my burgers, but I will not automatically give the burger a worse rating if bacon is not included. Medium-well or well-done is my preference, and the less greasy the better. I am not a fan of greasy burgers because while they may taste delicious going down, I always regret it for the remainder of the day. The same goes with fries, as I enjoy them most when they are not too oily and contain lots of potato. My ideal french fries would be either thick hand-cut fries or steak fries, and I am never a fan of shoestrings. Hopefully this site will give insightful reviews that will help the Milton students, faculty, and visitors enjoy the best burger possible.
