Gopie: The Fat Cat is a pub in Quincy recommended by Mr. Lou. We ordered a Fat Cat burger and the order took about 20 minutes, the longest wait. Fat cat burger was dressed with lettuce, tomatoes, and red onion. I do not like red onions so I took them off and the burger was excellent. The bun was average nothing special. The only knock on the burger were the red onions, which kept it from a perfect taste rating. The French fries were average, they tasted natural and had a crispy texture. The restaurant is small and painted black catering to an older crowd. I would recommend the fat cat to older Miltonians because of the pub aspect bringing an older crowd.
Chun: The Fat Cat was recommended to our group by Mr. Michael Lou of the history department. After reading the reviews on Yelp, we were decided to definitely try this restaurant out. The Fat Cat was a short drive away from the Milton campus, making it one of the more accessible ones to Milton students with cars. Our group opened the heavy wooden doors of the Quincy restaurant to a darkened room. We first noticed the large bar on the left and then the masses of people crammed in a small room. We constantly had to get out of the way for people while we waited to be seated. The restaurant was pretty loud as well and filled with twenty-year olds.
I ordered the Fat Cat burger, a 10oz house made prime ground chuck with chef seasoning, lettuce, tomato, onion on a ciabatta roll and a side of handcut fries. When the waitress brought the food out, the size of the burger caught our eyes. The patty was pretty massive and the smell of burger was out of this world. The burger looked as if it were burnt on the outside but when I took the first bite, the juiciness of the burger proved me wrong. The Fat Cat burger was absolutely delicious: well-cooked and seasoned. The hand-cut fries were pretty good but because I don't like too much potato in my fries, they weren't amazing. My recommendation: go get a Fat Cat burger and fries.
Austin:Located in a what seemed like a rather empty part of quincy, the Fat Cat is a hidden restaurant that seemed pretty popular once inside. Recommended by Mr. Lou, the Fat Cat burger was a thick, juicy patty that seemed more like a ball of meat than a patty. After taking the first bite, the juice of the burger spilled out and onto the napkin beneath me. For many people a very juicy burger might be heaven, but the Fat Cat burger was a little much for me. The bun was not toasted, yet still tasted incredible. The fries, on the other hand, were some of the best fries out of the restaurants that we visited. They were relatively thick, hand-cut fries with just the right amount of salt. The fries also were not too greasy, and they did not taste unhealthy at all. The restaurant itself was dark and crowded, with minimal space between tables. I would recommend the Fat Cat if you are looking for a thick juicy burger and delicious fries.
