Gopie: Johnny rockets located in the SSP stands out in the good court with its bright signs and waiters serving tables. Many are lured to the restaurant because of its appearance but I'd say those people are making a big mistake choosing this restaurant to eat at. The burger and fries took about 10 minutes and was cheap only $8. We ordered an original Johnny Rockets burger topped with relish, lettuce, ketchup. The burger looked terrible and poorly put together. The patty was a thin strip of meat that was very well done. I could not taste the meat at all only the relish. I could not finish the burger because most of my bites were of the bun, lettuce, and relish. The fries were awful too, they were undercooked and soggy. With ketchup the fries taste terrible still like soggy potatoes. I gave the meal a 1 in each category and would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Chun: Johnny Rockets, the self-deemed "original hamburger" joint, is smacked in the middle of South Shore Plaza about ten minutes away from the Milton Campus. When we entered the restaurant, or should I say booth, we were immediately struck by the diner décor. The restaurant looks, in every way, like a diner from the 1950s: red cushioned spinning chairs for the bar and red booths for the wooden tables. The employees wear old-fashion chef hats and white aprons. Even though the restaurant had the looks of a pretty decent diner, Johnny Rockets did not produce good burgers.
I ordered the "original" hamburger with a side of fries. The burger looked very unappetizing and I could just see the grease. The fries looked a bit too yellow, possibly indicating that some sort of artificial coloring was involved. The burger was undercooked and very soggy due to the large amount of relish and mayo. When I bit into it, all I could taste was the relish. As for the fries, they were undercooked, unsalted and very, very hot. There's really not much else to say about this awful burger experience besides it being quite awful. Only come to Johnny Rockets if you want one of the worst burgers I have ever tasted in my entire life.
Austin: Prior to visiting Johnny Rockets for our project, I had always enjoyed the burgers there. However; after this experience, I am not sure I will want to eat there again for a while. Unless you are looking for great shakes, do not come to Johnny Rockets. Their burgers were the worst of the restaurants that we visited and one of the worst that I can remember ever having. The bun was small, thin, and tasteless, while the patty was even smaller and drowned out by the toppings, especially the relish, and the burger was messy to eat. While the fries were served hot, they were quite undercooked and had a bland potato taste. Since Johnny Rockets was in the South Shore Plaza food court, the seating inside of Johnny Rockets was fairly limited. There were about 8 booths and a counter, and the restaurant had an old-school diner look. For a restaurant the boasts about their old-fashioned burgers, Johnny Rockets was an enormous letdown.
