The Student Center is filled with lights and fake snow shines on every windowsill. This weekend, a gingerbread house making contest created a delicious display in the dining hall. Each dorm has also used the holiday season as an opportunity to advertise house pride by hanging massive letters above the entrances, marking each house from across the Quad. Inside of the dorms, Secret Snowflake clues are being dropped and the boys are practicing for caroling following Boarder Dinner. On the last Monday before winter break during the Holiday Assembly, the entire Upper School will be lucky enough to hear each acapella group perform a classic holiday song, and even be able to join in on the singing. Also during the Holiday Assembly, the entire convocation center bursts out in the 12 Days of Christmas with each day shouted by a different group of students and teachers. Although many of us are itching for the start of vacation, the festivities on campus make the last days of 2012 the most memorable. From the Milton Academy Orange and Blue Key, we wish you a happy holiday season and a great year to come!

Our school pride is shining brighter than ever! Last Friday our team traveled to rival territory at Nobles and ran our toughest race of the year against all 12 ISL teams. MAXC (Milton Academy Cross Country) had beaten 11 of the 12 teams, with the exception of Nobles, in the regular season. We wrote “Nobles” on our locker room “Win Wall” because we knew we had to beat them in order to win the championship. With so many girls racing, it was extremely unclear as to who had won the ISL championship following the race. When the announcer announced Nobles in second place, our section of the bleachers erupted with screams and cheers! After an extensive photo shoot with our new hardware, both the boys, who came in second in the ISL, and girls teams celebrated over a pasta dinner and bonfire at a teammates house. Although I awoke sorer than ever the next morning, I couldn’t be more proud to be a Mustang!
